Unexpected Equipment Malfunction Delays Warmups
Rim Replacement Is Necessary
BIG RAPIDS - Good shooters tend to know when something is up with the basket, and that was the case on Saturday morning prior to the team's home Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game against Ashland (scheduled for a noon start).
The Bulldog players could see that the rim was bent down in the front and had to be replaced with another one about 40 minutes prior to the start of the game. Building manager Kevin Barnes led the effort to replace the basket to do his best to keep the game-time start on track. Now, we're just under 20 minutes before the start of the game (according to the clock).
Both teams are currently in the locker room, but the basket has been replaced and it appears we are almost ready for some basketball.
