The University is hosting a keynote speech followed by a reception and discussion with the honorable Ugur Kenan Ipek, who is the consul general of the Republic of Turkey. I've had a chance to talk to Todd Stanislav, director of the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning, and Rebecca Sammel, assistant professor in Languages and Literature at Ferris, about the event. Both are excited about this special opportunity for Ferris State University.
The consul general was expected to arrive in Big Rapids on Monday. The 50-minute keynote address takes place at 11 a.m. in the Ferris' College of Business (Room 111). For more information, contact Patty Terryn at (231) 591-3946 or by e-mail at email@example.com.
Later in the day, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the International Center located in FLITE 404, the consul general will participate in a free reception and discussion that will be open to the public. For more information, contact Janel Lockwood at (231) 591-2809 or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
