Black Student Union, Ferris State Chapter presents: State of the Black Student
State of the Black Student is an event that is devoted to seeking change of issues that affect minority students on Ferris State University’s campus.
On Wednesday, Dec. 7, Black Student Union (BSU) is hosting this event in IRC 120 at 7 p.m.
This event will present a wide variety of topics that affect minority students such as their role at this university, how to make a difference on campus, decorum and much more.
“State of the Black Student is a discussion to address the issues that are effecting and preventing success amongst the minority students at Ferris State University. Being a minority on this campus, what affects one, affects all,” said Breanna Alexander, BSU president.
Some of the goals of BSU are to promote and encourage scholarship, professionalism, community service, and knowledge of current events which contribute to being a successful college student.
“This discussion will be a teaching and learning experience,” Alexander said.
