Kicking off at 10 a.m. are tailgating festivities in the Top Taggart Field parking lot. There will be an Alumni Welcome Tent with food, fun, and activities for the entire family. Other student organizations and groups will also be in on the fun with tents, cookouts, and games. Tailgating continues until 2 p.m., when Ferris football battles Hillsdale at Top Taggart Field.
For those interested in community gathering, the Homecoming Parade starts at noon. Student organizations, academic programs, residence halls, Homecoming King and Queen candidates, and plenty of Ferris pride will be strolling through the town. The parade starts at Big Rapids Middle School and ends at the Science Building on Ferris’ campus.
After the football game, the Alumni Association will be hosting a postgame reception for alumni and students at Westview Dining Center at Ferris. The menu includes prime rib and chicken cordon bleu, along with activities like sketch artists and a photo booth. The first 400 alumni and students without meal plans will have their meals paid for, courtesy of the Alumni Association.
Later on in the evening also hosts reunions for alumni of Delta Tau Epsilon/Lambda Chi Alpha, Sigma Phi Epsilon, and Alpha Sigma Tau. For information on those reunions, head to: http://www.ferris.edu/alumni/Homecoming/Schedule.htm
Homecoming at Ferris State represents a time for people to come together; old classmates, current students, faculty, and staff, and the Big Rapids community. It’s a time to reminisce on the great times once had, and the even better ones to come. We hope you will join us in celebrating Bulldog Nation, no matter where you may be this weekend.
Go Dawgs, and Vote for Brutus!
